Trump Weighs In On AI Debate

President Donald Trump is speaking out about artificial intelligence.
Trump says the Trump Administration has taken action against AI companies over what he describes as bad or potentially bad activity. He also claims there is a “SICK conspiracy” against AI and data centers, arguing that China benefits from those efforts. Trump says the United States is leading China and other countries in AI and will continue to do so.
The only control or “guardrails” that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades! The Trump Administration has stopped AI “people” from doing bad, or potentially bad, “things,“ like Dario (Anthropic!), who is now pretending to be a “perfect little angel” – and we will continue to do so! We already have tremendous CRIMINAL and REGULATORY power over these companies! There is a SICK conspiracy going on against AI and Data Centers, and the only one that is happy about it is China. Trump was responding to comments from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei.
Amodei called for a slowdown in AI development.
The statement comes just days after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called for a blanket slowdown in AI development in order to ensure safety. Trump on Sunday appeared to push back on that sentiment.

Amodei’s essay published Saturday also argued that a “Chinese lead in AI would pose grave danger for the United States and the world.” He urged the Trump administration to implement more stringent limits on what AI chips can be sent to Beijing’s development facilities.

Concerns over AI development burst back onto the scene last week after a developer from Anthropic resigned and publicly claimed the company was “gambling with our lives” with its research.
JD Vance called it weird that AI companies were asking for regulations.
Vance warned that it feels “a bit of a Trojan Horse.”

Vance told reporters on Monday he feels “a little bit weird” about AI companies “begging the government to regulate them,” saying it feels like “a bit of a Trojan Horse.”

“Any technology has risks,” Vance said after a reporter asked whether Americans should be “scared” about the rapid advancement of AI, asserting Trump wants to be “smart about making sure we stay on top of the risks.”
