President Donald Trump announced the nomination of Todd Butler to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, highlighting Butler’s legal education, experience before the court and work defending law enforcement.

Trump also pointed to support for Butler from Mississippi Sens. Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith.

President Donald Trump also announced the nomination of Philip Aubart to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, pointing to Aubart’s work as the First Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of North Carolina, his military service and his legal experience.

Trump said Aubart has the backing of North Carolina Sens. Ted Budd and Thom Tillis, as well as a recommendation from Michael Whatley.

President Donald Trump announced the nomination of Brian Meyers to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, citing Meyers’ current role as a magistrate judge, his previous work as an assistant U.S. attorney, and his service as an attorney in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Trump also highlighted Meyers’ education, his work for the late Sen. Jesse Helms, and support from North Carolina Sens. Ted Budd and Thom Tillis and Michael Whatley.
