President Donald Trump pushed back against media reports that he was suggesting Iran should bomb San Diego and Los Angeles, saying his comments were intended to compare the temporary increase in gasoline prices with the potential consequences of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon.
In a post, Trump accused news outlets of misrepresenting his remarks, arguing that his reference to the two California cities was meant to illustrate the potential cost of a nuclear-armed Iran.
He maintained that the media understood the comparison but continued to portray his comments differently, accusing news organizations of spreading what he called “Fake News.”
The Fake and Artificial News is out there trying to say that I’m inviting the enemy to bomb San Diego and Los Angeles when, in actuality, what I was talking about was that a temporary increase in the price of Gasoline is a small price to pay for Iran not having a Nuclear Weapon and, if you want to see a big price, can you imagine what it would be like if they bombed San Diego and/or Los Angeles? All I was doing was making a comparison between paying a little more, for a short time, for Gasoline, versus the bombing of our Major Cities. Everybody knew that, the Fake News knew it as well, but they continue to go out and say that I am asking the enemy to bomb two Cities that I love. It’s totally clear what I say but, these people are Degenerates, and think they can continuously get away with Fake News! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Here is the clip of Trump’s comments.
Trump on Iran:
Remember, with the war, it’s just artificial. It’s a little bit high. It’s a small price to pay for keeping the world safe.
They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles or San Diego. This is a very small price to pay. It’s essentially almost over with.

The White House had previously blasted those pushing the fake narrative.
No, he didn’t, you buffoons. He was saying the U.S. is fighting to STOP Iran from having the ability to take out LA and San Diego with a nuclear weapon — which they would if they had the chance.

However, many assert the remarks were taken out of context and that Trump was speaking about high gas prices being a small price to pay for peace, explaining that Iran with a nuclear weapon would be able to take out Los Angeles or San Diego. He then went back to his previous remark about gas prices being a “small price” to pay — not allowing Iran to wipe out two U.S. cities.
Trump’s Rapid Response account also tried to set the record straight.
“No, he didn’t, you buffoons,” Rapid Response said in reaction to a Los Angeles Times headline claiming that Trump suggested allowing Iran to take out the cities. “He was saying the U.S. is fighting to STOP Iran from having the ability to take out LA and San Diego with a nuclear weapon — which they would if they had the chance,” it continued.
BBC also cited remarks from White House communications director Steven Cheung, who said the media freakout is “not rooted in reality”.
The media caught lying again!
